This is a guide to using CHEM1D, specifically to support the paper by Nedoluha et al, modeling the ClO change in the Hunga volcano plume For compiling: seems to require ifortran; I tried gfortran and it crashed ifort -c -80 *.f ifort *.o then mv a.out chem1d_out_66 to run: ./chem1d_run_hunga It will ask for the name of your initial file ("restart", *.res). There are two files provided, hunga_newlow.res and hunga_high.res. These vary the input H2O at 36-42 km by approximately what is observed (a 40-50% increase) Then, the code will create a big unformatted OUT file with lots of extraneous reaction rates etc. You can use read_output.pro to read it, but easier is that here this has been condensed into python readable IDL save files, with tag names "hunga"
